How To Overcome Anxiety

It's a Terrible Dis-Ease

Anxiety is a common human emotion that can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, fear, and uncertainty. While it is normal to feel anxious from time to time, chronic anxiety can be debilitating and interfere with daily life.

These factors create what we call "Dis-ease." Dis-ease is anything that makes your life harder, or less easy.

One of the most important things we can do to overcome anxiety is to trust in God.

The Christian Bible tells us that God is our refuge and strength, a present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

He is always with us, and He cares for us deeply. When we trust in God, we can cast our anxiety on Him, knowing that He is in control (1 Peter 5:7).

Another important way to overcome anxiety is to focus on God's goodness.

The Bible is full of stories of God's faithfulness and love. When we focus on God's goodness, it helps us to remember that He is trustworthy and that He has your best interests at heart. This can help to replace our anxiety with peace and hope.

Finally, we can practice other healthy coping mechanisms to help us manage anxiety. These may include exercise, relaxation techniques, or spending time with loved ones. If our anxiety is severe, we may also need to seek professional help.

Remember, we are not alone in our struggle with anxiety. God understands our pain, and He is always with us to help us through. With His help, we can overcome anxiety and find peace in Christ.

Here are some additional scriptures that can help us overcome anxiety:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)

"For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control."  (2 Timothy 1:7)

If you are struggling with anxiety, know that you are not alone. God is with you, and He can help you overcome. Reach out to Him in prayer, and seek out the support of others. With God's help, you can find peace and hope in the midst of your anxiety.

Do you know and have a relationship with Jesus Christ?
